<p>Always have business cards available in your establishment. You only need the essential information to create them, so you should never be without.</p>
<p>For a bit of a change, you could create loyalty cards instead of classic business cards, and encourage your customers to come back. For example, you could offer a free beverage for every five or ten purchased drinks.</p>
<p>Organise themed nights or mid-week events, and offer reductions to encourage people to go out even when it’s not the weekend. When you have found a theme or idea and settled on a date, then get your posters and flyers printed and do some serious promoting!</p>
<p>Stick up the posters well before the event and hand out the flyers like they’re going out of fashion! If you want to attract the attention of the public, you’ll need to find an original idea or offer drinks at attractive prices. You can also purchase flyers or postcards with reduction coupons…</p>
<p>Create a website. You can upload photos of your events, and promote upcoming ones etc. Don’t forget to add a map and to give details of opening times etc.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When you are creating advertising tools such as leaflets and postcards, think about the impact you want them to have on your customers or prospective clients:</p>
<p>1.	 Be concise! Try to say only the essential. You need to catch your customer’s eye immediately and communicate your message within a few seconds. It is generally accepted that most people will move on before reading to the end if the message is too complex and long.</p>
<p>2.	Avoid too many colours and images in the background, as your reader will be distracted from the message. </p>
<p>3.	Make sure you have enough contrast between the background colours and those of the text. Too little and it will be difficult to read.</p>
<p>4.	Avoid ‘fun’ or ‘interesting fonts’. They are more difficult to read and have been shown to discourage people from reading the whole text. Go for classic, simple fonts that are easy on the eye.</p>
<p>5.	Think about the size of the font used. Too small, and your text will be difficult to read… </p>
<p>6.	You can attract attention to important ideas by using a larger font or different colours. </p>
<p>7.	Your images must complement the text and you will need to base the choice on the message you want to give and the profile of your target customer.</p>
<p>8.	Only choose photos of very high quality!</p>

<p>1.	What are you goals? Do you want to launch a new product or service, or highlight your expertise? The first step is to set the goals you want to achieve!</p>
<p>2.	Define the message you want to give. It must be clear and coherent.</p>
<p>3.	You need to publicise your event. Compile a guest list (clients, prospective clients, suppliers, local journalists, the general public etc.) and send out invitations one or two months before the event. Target your guests according to your goals. Print posters, postcards and a large banner to promote your Open Day. Organise a mailshot and take advantage of email marketing and talk about the upcoming event in your newsletter.</p>

<p>Collect all key product information: functions, price, design, packaging, distribution channels…</p>
