• Attract attention with networking cards

    Tuesday, May 31st, 2011 by Vistaprint UK | Business Cards, Business Products

    Emphasise your competences and professional and academic experience by creating networking cards. Small enough to be put in a wallet or a jacket pocket; you should always carry them on you.

    They are designed to be handed out, so they are ideal for trade shows, recruitment fairs or networking events, for example.

    The goal is to present yourself in an original and clear way in professional meetings, so dig out your CV, bring it up to date and then just take the most important elements to put on your card:

    Your professional skills and career path, your qualities and any specialist skills, and equally important – your contact details! Add your telephone number, email address, LinkedIn profiles etc.

    Take care over the layout of your card in order to make it easy to read and choose a design that is in keeping with your industry and professional image. Is it a good idea to add your photo? Well, one advantage is that the photo can act almost like a logo. It can help your interlocutor remember you after the event. Just make sure you choose a good photo that gives the right impression!

  • The challenges of starting a new company

    Monday, May 30th, 2011 by Vistaprint UK | Address Labels, Business Cards, Business Products, Stamps, Sticky Notes

    Starting a new company is an enormous challenge, so arm yourself with communication tools that will make your company stand out from the crowd!

    1. Design an original business card that will give a positive impression of you;

    2. Make sure you get a business email address that will add to your credibility;

    3. Don’t forget non-digital correspondence, and design headed paper and compliments cards that match your business cards. For a really impeccable image, order your return address and address labels, customised envelopes and folders at the same time. Rubber stamps and date stamps will also help save you time when you are processing your mail.

    4. Avoid forgotten appointments by investing in appointment cards, or encourage your customers to come back by giving them loyalty cards.

    5. For your employees: customised notepads, sticky notes (and their holder) and notebooks that have your logo, slogan and contact details will be really practical at the office, and will also complement your professional image.

    6. These products, just like pens and other engraved items can also be used as promotional products to hand out to your customers, partners and suppliers.

  • Promotional flyers

    Sunday, May 29th, 2011 by Vistaprint UK | Business Products

    The flyer is an effective way to publicise a company, and represents excellent value for money. Flyers can be used to raise the profile of a company, although the opportunity to create flyers that encourage people to buy should not be missed. Your flyers should lead to sales, or you will lose money!

    • An offer of a gift or reduction is often very effective in providing a hook for prospective customers. For example, when a customer makes a purchase, you could give him or her a flyer with vouchers or coupons, that encourage them to come back in the future.

    • If you hand out money-off vouchers, encourage customers to take one for a friend and recommend your products or services.

    • Devise a strategy for your advertising campaign. If you want to promote sales or new products and services, you’ll need to decide whether you want a targeted campaign. If not, you will need to distribute many more flyers to achieve a decent return.

    • Think about the timing of your campaign. Promotions or reductions just before seasonal celebrations can incite people to come to you for bargains. It can be very difficult to get the right moment, however, so flyer campaigns should be repeated at various points throughout the year.

  • Organising a birthday party (2)

    Saturday, May 28th, 2011 by Vistaprint UK | Consumer Products, Cotton Bags, Invitations, T-shirts

    4. Think about food and drink. Do you want to prepare a buffet yourself? If you do, then make sure you ask friends for help and delegate tasks well in advance. If you don’t, then get quotes from caterers and restaurants so you can make a decision as early as possible.

    5. How will you decorate the room? Think about putting banner outside so that your guests can find you easily. Order banners that match your invitations.

    6. Inside, go for banners with messages and birthday wishes for the guest of honour. If you have chosen a theme for the party, then go for decorations in keeping with your theme in order to impress your guests and create a convivial atmosphere.

    7. Think about your room layout and how you will organise the space. Make sure you leave enough space for dancing, and that there are enough tables and chairs for everyone. Leave enough space between tables for people to move comfortably around the room.

    8. You could offer a gift to all your guests: t-shirts, key rings, cotton bags… as a souvenir of your moment shared!

  • Organising a birthday party (1)

    Friday, May 27th, 2011 by Vistaprint UK | Cotton Bags, Invitations, T-shirts, Thank You Cards

    We all love a good party and organising a birthday party for one of our friends or family is a simply perfect present. Invite all those who are loved by or important to the person in question, and get them all together to celebrate their birthday and create an unforgettable event.

    Of course, a good party needs lots of organisation, time and a bit of money! But it’s worth it if you can offer a moment of happiness to someone you love. So, here are a few tips for the organisation:

    1. Choose the place. It can be really nice to have a party at home, but you need to think about the number of guests and the space you have available to accommodate them. If you don’t have the space, you’ll need to find a room to hire (village hall, restaurant, bar…).

    2. Once you have chosen the place, you need to send the invitations! You’ll need to send them early enough for all your friends to get themselves organised. Leave an RSVP space on the invitations and add a map and contact details of hotels in the area. If you are organising a themed or surprise party, then don’t forget to warn your guests on the invites!

    3. It’s common to send thank you cards at some point during the two weeks following a party. Choose a design that matches your invitations and order them at the same time.
